Had an idea about making a website that teaches you about Autodesk Maya in which anyone can learn. It will start with the basics.Comments are welcome, critiques... more so.

Yeah but maya models are too detailed to be imported into a game straight off, you'd have to recreate them in 3ds max.

Yeah, if you create a lowpoly model the easiest way is to export as a .obj file, and bring it into 3DS Max, then export to HL format (.mdl)

But this is'nt about HL

This is just for general people who want to pick up a fun new hobby. This will guide them on how to move the cameras, change through panels, right to UvMapping with Maya.

Maya is perfectly capable of doing game stuff, like Unreal Tournament stuff want mostly Maya.

Uh, no. Maya is just a modelling package like 3DS Max, the only package that would really make models too detailed for game engine use is a sculpting package, the artist is the one who makes the detailing when it comes to Max and Maya.

Now, an issue I was thinking about is that the best and most clear way to watch these are in 'Fullscreen'
However I can link from my Home website, to the tutorial which would be large, and easier to alt-tab. My intro video will covers how to switch through the windows and whatnot.. but yeah

I think this will work:Mainly because they don't have to set the video to 720p, or view in fullscreen without loosing quality. It automatically sets the HD this way.

I'm crazy impressed with how clear this video turned out.
