I'm trying to do some greenscreen work in CS:S and I want to do it on a existing map but here's the problem:
I can't figure out a easy way to take every texture in the map and replace it with a singular [green] texture, short of decompiling the map and actually doing it manually... I can't take a demo from one map and play it on another so I can't decompile the map.

What reason do you have to make the entire map green?

I'm curious about what you're trying to accomplish. A greened out map would kill all of the definition of a map except for the shading. I can't think of a good purpose. :P

Find out what materials you want to make green then replace them? All local files in /cstrike will override the ones in the package files.

If you want to greenscreen yourself into an ingame video, it's not the map that has to be green; it has to be whatever is behind you IRL.

Well that is quite obvious. I believe he's trying to achieve something else.

I could replace every texture the map uses but that's extremely tedious work, especially for more then one map and I'm wondering if there is any simple 'override textures' tool like with 3ds max.

Yes, easily, in Hammer you can replace textures with a few clicks. This involves decompiling and then recompiling the map which you are trying to avoid which is why I mentioned the alternative. If you don't want to recompile the map, it's going to be tedious work.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Separate players from the map, onto a different video layer. I want to blur the background which is very tedious keyframe work, but very easy greenscreen work.
