Hi guys, I just wanted to inform you all, that the Steam workshop, for CS:GO especially, is amazing. I uploaded my ar_karosta map about 4 days ago, and it has 400 subscribers already - that means 400 people that clicked subscribe, went in-game, waited for the map to download, and then played it.

What this means is, it's quite easy to get your map viewed and played, once you place it onto the workshop, and it can look great on portfolios as well, to show that you've created something popular on steam. Just giving you guys a heads up.

L4D2 has a workshop for maps too, but CS:GO is more map specific as that workshop contains ONLY maps.
Long story short - if you're looking for a way to become popular and build up your portfolio, or you just want to make something fun for people to play, Steam Workshop is your best option.

It's really easy to load maps from it too, that's why it's so popular.
Maybe some of you guys will be interested.

Finally, you can get unbiased recognition/rejection, and unprecedented exposure for your work to valve!

If you were ever thinking about getting into hammer again, this is the time!

I'm loving workshop! My map might be popular enough to end up on the next Operation Payback! It's got 8,000 subscribers, 15,000 visits, and 100 comments!

Operation payback was the thing where Valve took the 7 most popular maps and put them on official servers, and if you could pay $5 to play them. The money all went to the map-makers.
