hmmm... is there any mod where you are not G. Freeman but G-man? experimental gov. weapons? Special armor/shield for being bulletproof :D that would be great idea for a mod. I vote for g-man! he's not evil, but not good also i think. He want to test Gordon/Shepard, he want to see them fight, but not to die. G-man want to take rule of the world! of Xen world :D

What IS sven coop? I hear about it all the time, is it a ripped version of Half Life or something?
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-23 13:23:07 UTC Post #35712
its a coop mod for hl. it has hl sp support so you and others can play coop on the hl singleplayer. www.svencoop.com

Ofcousre I destryoed the crystals first, I thought it's so routine and everyone knows it. And, btw, once I discover the Hornet I use almost no other weapons. So I finish the whole Xen campaign and most of the 'Lambda Core' only woth the Hornet and a crossbow. I'm so worried of ammo shortages, it's almost like a paranoiah. I guess I was going to go crowbar only if there was no hornet gun...

You have to try it, very annoying when youre out of hornets and there 3 agrunts in the room with you. But kinda increases the action element and when you've finished the game countless times it gives a new feeling. I also use the basic Glock thruout the entire game, since it's much more accurate than the MP5 and saves the ammo. MP5 for GL only and shoutgun for short distances. I keep the gauss for apaches and ospreys and it could be very usefull for the Nihilanth. Once the Hornet has got rid of the healing balls just a single (not even fully charged) blast kills him instantly.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 16:24:47 UTC Post #36094
im about to try that, but it sounds to easy.... they should of made him harder, a lot harder. But i like the effects when he dies!

g-man definetly because he's always there, watching you as you wittle your way through the wreck of the Black Mesa. The Nihilanth is just a bloated little/big piece of flesh that mumbles at you in a psychological way and fires energy at you. Nihilanth= . G-Man=
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-30 16:48:28 UTC Post #37778
Even though I like Nihilanth more (like the whole concept of Xen more really) I must say this.

It is very ironic...
Nihilanth is an all powerfull being.....
But he get killed by a mere crowbar.....
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-30 16:48:42 UTC Post #37779
That IS the only way to kill him right?
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-30 17:22:06 UTC Post #37792
???
You can kill him with every weapon you got ammo for.
I prefer satchels. :badass:

Hmm...all these different ways of getting killed must give Nihlanth some interesting things to talk about when he goes home at night.

And I vote for G-Man.

And whoa, its the 1st of July! Happy July!

Today I played Lode Runner 2 and guess what I've found in the High Scores - there was an entry called G-Man! Now I feel kinda wired. The G-Man is watching us, he's everywhere...

F-f-f-fr-fr-free-freeman!
I love this effect.
Reverse echo, and it's so easy that even I can produce it. :P

The G-Man is cooler though. 'Well well, isn't this just like - old times?' :)
me <-- wants HL?

I am impressssssed.

I was a custom map running some r_speed tests and when I went to paste a command, I forgot I had that "The G-Man is watching us, he's everywhere..." quote on the clipboard, and there, all of a sudden, instead of gl_wireframe 2, there was "The G-Man is watching us, he's everywhere..." and it scared the crap out of me until I realized I had copied it earlier. Hehehe.

Actually, his initials are lm, which I interpret to mean "Laidlaw, Mark" who wrote Half-Life's story. Quite clever.

I was just basing it off of Todesangst becuase i didn't think the gman had a set name, so I thought Todesangst gave him one. Just like Point of View sets a bunch of unkown stuff about Xen

if any of u ever got retail counter-strike when it came out and played the hl mod 'final redeption' that came with it then u would know that g-man wasn't evil as he played a head of a small counter oddness unit that freeman becomes a was a part of at the end of hl.

but 'final redemption' was shit and hl2 will probaly give a diffrent story.

The Gamn and Nihallith have there good points, Gman was bulletproof because you wernt ever supposed to get near him (thu if you run at him and dodge all of the action just beofre you meet the first grunt you can reach him b4 he dissapears I found :badass: ) Nihhlith is cool just purley becuase ...It can open a gatewway to another dimention. He rocks although if you play HL too much like YOU and I do then ovcourse its easy, i remember it took me nearly half an hour to figure out how to beat him the first time.

I say the Gman is cool but hes a mere human, Nihhlith is the last of his kind and rules a dimention. Dont mess with the nihallith!

Doesn't Nihilanth mutter something aboot "you are man...he is not man...he waits for you?" G-man? bad G-man! Dirty G-man! On your rug!

I wonder if you can kill giant baby Nihilanth using a giant dingo like in that aussie film, Ayrs Rock I think.

hold the phone.....Dr. Rosenberg called the military to kill freeman....even though they try to kill him too......

Ive played Redemption, Got it with cs retail. Thats mod is great, awesome, spectacular, the true story of what happened after Half Life. One of the most fun mods out there.

Nihilanth doesn't mutter, he sends decieving messages into your head like "The last, you are the last" "Decive, you will decieve, you will..." "Win, you cannot win"

Nihlanth is n all powerfull being, If he wanted to, he could indeed kill Gordon with a snap of a finger, but then that would give the game a horrible ending. Nihilanth is reborn in Redemption, foolish Gordon goes back to fight him in the end. I bet Nihlanth crushes him muahahaha

look at the sounds/gman folder in a pac explorer and listen to noregets.wav i think this was the original but wasn't used. it explains alot more about why you get teleported into a room of alien grunts. anyways i vote the g-man. because he let you keep the HEV suit :D
