Do you have to pay and rent a server to play your own counter strike content online or can you just create one and I have just missed something?

No, you can host your own games free, they run on your own internet connection.

Run the dedicated and you can select a mod.

yup. works. but im dl'ing the stand alone version. wiht hlraly and hldm. both costum maps
