Ok i know I may sound stuped for asking this, but when i open up my pak folder I than open up the half life directory. Is this the file that the sounds and stuff are in ? because i cant find them. I know some of you have explained it before but I just cant find the sound folder, I got my sound in the right format and everything but i just have to put it in the right place.

It should be in something like:
C:SIERRAHalf-Lifevalvesound
You need to put the sounds in the right folders after that.

well when I use wally is all i do is just click on the folder called pak on my desktop and than in the adress bar open it up threw there? because there is no sound folder there. Did I do something wrong?

Could it mot being there maybe be because I dont have internet on that comp?

There isn't a folder in teh PAK called Half-life. GCFs have those.

In the PAK, you should see models, sound, sprites, etc.

This would not be due to no internet connection.

i see models and some other stuff but not sounds. To unpack, do i just click on the little folder on the desktop thats called pak and than open up the half life folder threw the adress? ? ?

Make sure you unzipped the pak0.pak file into the valve folder. By the way, do you have retial HL or Steam?

All I got right now is good old Half life, and that comp. isnt even good enough to get counterstrike working but it could have internet if i would get a good router... Back when I was a lot younger I grew up with counterstrike every day, but now my comp needs to be upgraded and my parents dont care thx for the help!............man even thow i wont be able to play any maps I submit, I think I should try submitting one because no one has ever seen any of my maps...

I use HL model viewer or the pak explorer to listen to HL sounds. i haven't tried wally though... I thought it was just for plain texturing...

Wally will extract them as well. Pakexplorer does the same thing.

dude can you just tell me exactly how to use it(wally)... like click on this then press that and so on , i know im such a noob I realy nead music for my dance club lol...
