Did you guys know about this? Half-Life was orginally going to look like this: HLNP ? WOW! Look at some of those old screenies! Especially the ones like the one of the rocket silo test chamber place. I can hardly believe it! I am soooo gald that the original game wasn't the final version.

I don't know if I am the only one, but alot of those screenies look really cool. I really wish they had this in the actually HL

They look alot like doom in a few shots, a few of the screenies are full bright, or very bright.
Also, no-one uses that god awful texture for floors in a few of the screenshots.

SvenCoop minigun grunt? He was originally planned for the game, but was scrapped and added to the SDK.

And that was just Gordo before he arrived at Black Mesa...he used to work as a lumberjack.

What I really find interesting is that almost all prerealse images of Half-Life are from this version. I figured most of it would be from the newer version. Also, you'll notice that a lot of the images look very similar to areas in Half-Life. Some secions, however, such as the marine-scietist interigation that gets out of hand was cut from the final version. I would've liked to see what that was like. I also want to see some of the videos that the planethalflife/nostalgia site has but of course they are all fileplanet and I'm too cheap to get an account. Do any of you have one by the way? Where do you all get your stuff? I got hl and opp for from a friend. As for They Hunger and USS Darkstar, I got those off a a demo CD. I've never even played over the internet before. I feel like I'm really missing out. When ever I try to connect to WON it says that it couldn't esatblish a connection or some such crap. I've read stuff about WON being dead before. What is that all about? I don't have steam. Do I need that to play multiplayer? I know this thread has turned into a new category, sorry.

Ivan. He looks like an Ivan. Though I still stick with my story he's a lumberjack. Maybe Ivan teh Space Lumberjack would've been better.

The project has been around for a couple of years that I know of, I still think the funniest thing was the fact that Houndeye's were meant to be friendly, but the Beta testers blasted them as soon as they appeared.
Valve in it's wisdom decided to make them nasty...

lol, if he was the main character i would never have brought the game, esecially if he was on the front cover.

Getting a Fileplanet account really wouldn't be practical for me. My Internet connection is like, 3kb/s when it's good. However, at the school I can download a 50 mb (which would take, like, a day on my computer) in, like, 2 minutes so if I get a laptop I could use the school's wireless internet connection... I might do just do that.
