To try and stop this thread from dying on it's ass, there IS actually a new HL2:EP2 screenie out. Not 100% sure if it's real though, but it looks pretty legit.

Awesome, but it looks completely non-legit. The Vortigaunt is all... weird looking... plasticy. I don't know, something about it just tells me it's completely shopped. If it IS real, there was some major touching up done there.

Remember, with the new features coming to the Source engine, lighting and the like is going to become a little different looking.
Besides, I'm not sure how it could be a fake? I haven't seen a screenshot that looks anything like that, so it's not like they've taken an old one and photoshopped a vort in there.
I'm relatively certain it's real. Not sure about whether it's been touched up or not.
