I have started writing a short book about the nature of noobs. It is in no way intended to offend anyone, but it is a very comical and funny read, and it also covers some facts about newbies. It's worth a read. I haven't finished it yet, but I am writing in it right now. I will upload the next page later!

m0p, that was brilliant. An accurate portrayal of noob infestation. I hope this resolves the on-going situation. Instead of arguing with the anonymous noob, we can now simply say "Refer to chapter 4 of 'The Way of The Noob'." [Ends argument instantly]

Very funny. Nice book. But you should also do one explaining what newbies are and how to tell n00bs and newbies apart.
Posted 19 years ago2005-01-02 10:26:07 UTC Post #81032
I think genuine 'newcomers' are actually 'newbies', where as the idiotic ones m0p describes are known as 'n00bs' or 'noobs'.

It may also be wise to implement censor settings to stop posting of disgusting imagery such as goatse, lemonparty or tubgirl, since spammers often post these images in order to disgust the members.
now who on earth would do a thing like that? ;)

that was hillarious MOP.

Continue it, and I bet it could sell ;)

Just think of it on the shelf:

"Noobs for dummies"

or

"Cure for the common Noob"

Do you spam regularly in irc?
Do you attempt to destroy communities?
Do you not listen to helpful advice when it's given?
Do you flame without reason?
Do you post useless shit in forums?
Then you need "Way of the noob"!

No offense MoP, but i find this..
Noobs who attempt to hack accounts or the server fall into this variety. IPDeny they from the server immediatly. Even if they can't do harm, people who even attempt this are stepping on dangerous territory. If they do hack the site, get the authorities involved!
..rather ironic, coming from you ;)

However I did stumble onto this site that had me laughing..

mopx es un acr?nimo de Master of Puppets, mi canci?n favorita de mi grupo favorito, Metallica. La X es por antiguo warez clan que ya no existe.
m0px is an acronym of Master of Puppets, my (canci?n? Related to, stolen?) of my favourite group, Metallica. The X es for old warez which now don't exist.

Sounds suspiciously familiar.
