...Okaaaayyyy...
You wanna buy rights to Opposing Force ? Good Luck!

did we say that? it depends how much you want to change. if you want to do any coding, then you need to download the SDK. silent hill 2 models are probably completely different formats, so i wouldnt count on it.

well i only need sh2 models.Because i dont want to remake them in milkshape 3d and i wont make new textures. And another thing i use bloodshed devc++ ore whatever but it wont compile what the hell is going on here

How do you go about buying the engine off of valve, and how much would it cost..(about)?

---oh and hahaha Bloodshed... your in the exact same position as me. you see its because Bloodshed, is set up for totally different values, thats why you get like 300 errors, if you want to use bloodshed, you have to reset it up from scratch... have fun wit that..lol, itys best you just buy Microsoft C++ compiler...

Which reminds me, those rich bastards who have this program should put it up for download. PLease FOR MY SAKE..lol (anyways.. in the meantime, I guess I'll have to bye it.)

What about Microsoft Tools 2003, this is a free batch compiler but how do you use it? Can it compile the SDK source?

Ok, these things are not cheap, you need to get Legal copies of serious tools if you plan on actually learning them.

fucklob: You have no hope in hell of licensing Gearbox's Code. Unless you have a spare design team, a publishing company, and a great royalty deal for gearbox, forget it.

Anything to do with releasing a standalone mod: Forget that too.

As for the models, if the game is Based on HL1 engine, then there are probably converters out there. If there are none, then the people who made the game did not want you copying their models into your own projects.
...who have this program should put it up for download.

Give borland a go - keep in mind that if you want to do coding, be prepared for a lot of reading.

There hasn't been anything on OPfor 2

Gearbox didn't release the SDK for their own reasons - not many game developers do that actually - how many mappers release the .map sources to their maps ? ;)

They certainly wanted people to make maps for it - but they didn't want to release the code. Pity, but that's life i guess....

One can license the source engine with the proper amount of funds :)

But you can't do the same for HL1 i'm afraid.
Pity.

Of boreland?

I have absolutely no idea.

Go with the latest.

Boreland, hehe. Programming is often a boreland for me ;/ - maybe because I suck at it.

Shouldn't it be *borland?

I have Borland? shit and it's crap (hehe :) ). The version I've got (some builder) is completely for Windows? programming. It's got a cool and easy-to-use interface but it's useless for anything else (it took me months to compile a simple DDraw program(to know how to do it, that is)).

If you plan on using one of the Microsoft? compliers better check out the Microsoft? Press. You have the option to buy a programming book with several CD's and a complete unlimited version of one of their products.

And, BTW, I think there is a modding team for HL1, who used the option from the License Agreement (if everything in your mod is made by you you can sell it) and wanted to make a standalone game. Things didn't really worked out too well and they had to pay VALVe? a license fee for the game engine.

Gunman chronicles?

I think they started off as a 3rd-party team, they ended up getting GC published by Sierra in any case.

Gunman = "Good" Entertainment when it was released.. nowadays you just cant play it. It's too ugly and it's phucking boring.
