ive noticed alot of people just rate a map and dont give any compliments. how is the mapper supposed to know whats good and whats bad about their map? i think we should change the rating system so that you can only rate it if you leave a comment.

but how order comments ? if every users give his own comment, you'll finally have as many comments as users, and that won't help you that much, while if you have a multi-rating system (rate graphics, gameplay, ...), you may have an overview of your map, without have to read (and understand) dozens of comments ...

not everyone who downloads the map has to rate it. its just that if they decide to rate the map they should have to leave a comment too.

the rating system comment should have a minimun of 50 words too so people don't just type :| and leave it.

not 50 words, maybe a bit less, and it would be in characters. but i can see people just saying "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" as their post and giving a crap rating.

well at least u would know who rated it

10 character minimum always works.

I like that idea:

If you rate it, you have to leave a comment. That will cut down on the rating spamming too.

Oh and if there are trolls who spam bad ratings and leave 50 comments all being "ooowwwnnneeeeeddd" or "aaaaaaaaaaaa" or ":):):):):):):)" etc, then the Ban Stick can be broken in. MonkeyChow seems to be itchy to use it.

But it does not keep people from multi posting, rating repeadedly, and posting spam.

Meh, if you guys really want an accurate rating, you should look for a new site that enforces the rating - Disabling it is a good way to get good comments. Just don't think your map is horrible if it gets a low rating as people enjoy rate-spam.

Its better to post an announcement in the Maps&Mods forum - you get proper feedback there :P
