...without actually knowing how to model. You DO need ms3d, but you don't need any modelling experience. Anyone interested? I've been experimenting with opfor models. I'm pretty busy, so it'll take a while, but I may get one done.

Ah, but Vassy said "...without actually knowing how to model"
Does that mean fiddle about with already-made ones?

No, i think he ment confusing the game into displaying a different model, by fiddling with the fgd...

am i right?

Not with fiddling with the fgd. It's editing the heads/weapons etc. of existing models. EG: Grunt with walter's head, barney with mp5. I can get it to work every time. And to guarantee it works, it replaces stuff rather than editing it. It's replacing premade stuff with other premade stuff!

Go for it!

It's gonna be a while before I make it, IF I make it, so don't hold your breath. :x

But then you're stuck with those edited ones, which kindof misses the point, of a wider model range?

erm the only thing i whould be pleased with at the minute is a tutorial that actually tells you how to do a wireframe! skeletons are easy enough to do!
Posted 20 years ago2003-12-26 18:56:22 UTC Post #9451
"do" a wireframe?

yes i think it goes skeleton then wireframe then block shade then smooth shade and finally textured, wireframe looks like a net man!, go and look in hlmv and select a monster on the bottom left of the first page you will see show wireframe,,,etc
Posted 20 years ago2003-12-27 04:20:59 UTC Post #9468
I know what a wireframe is ;)
Uh, I think you're talking about the actual modelling, lol. Skeleton usually comes later ("rigging").

You ARE stuck with the edited ones unless you use them as monster_generic, yes. But there's no actual modelling involved.
