Doom 3 engine is one of the most poorly sucky peice of crap I've ever played Source owns. END OF STORY!

YEA DOOM 3 was poorley written but it has awesome graphics or so we all say.

Doom3 graphics are okay, given the fact that most enviroments consist of cramped halls and rooms, where you can put lots of detail with less hit on performance.
HL2 graphics are simply beautiful. Even though they are less extravagant than Doom3, Unreal2 etc, lots of other things apart world geometry make the game good.
Far Cry is also astonishing in terms of beauty and freedom to move around, but the story hasnt caught my attention the way HL or HL2 did :)

Doom 3 itself was a ripoff and just a Doom 1 remake, but the lighting was beautiful. Far Cry was very nice, that water is a graphical orgasm! And source, well, source is ok, nice modelling, nice texes, nice overall.
m0p m0pIllogical.

Or wait, maybe it is.

Runescape is better than Doom 3!

habboi: you suck donkey testicles. NEVER compare the likes of the doom series to that disgrace of a 'game' we call runescape.

IEMC: kevin mod isnt birdofprey or fucklob, he's been here for a long time. and his spelling should be excused, since he's only 11.

and kevin, what? you would rather play a game with crappy 16-bit graphics and sprite characters than something with the rendered goodness of doom 3? when the blind man gets his sight back, does he prefer to walk around with his eyes closed?
Posted 19 years ago2005-03-08 13:40:21 UTC Post #95883
Doom3's lighting is pure pwnage, but physics crappy. FarCry's Water.. Orgasm.
Source got some good physics but it's not so "revolutionary".

Everyone is so surprised  but seriously, I am eleven. Actually more like eleven and a half...

Anyways, on-topic, I think DOOM3 graphics are pretty good on low quality. I guess the storyline is a bit clich?-like (or is it clich??), but at least they attempt a storyline...kind of...(go to Alpha Labs, then blah blah blah)

Ha, we american live on our computers, and hence can type much better then we can write. :P . I have typed like this since age 5 when i was introduced to s computer. P0wnag3.

And allthough my typeing skills have improved, aka being able to type a report while looking at the TV that is to the left of my computer and away from the monitor, and haveing only a few typing mistakes while doing it, i still had perfect grammer at age 5. < that might just be becasue English is my native laguage though.

Hey, I'm learning Java...isn't that being (well, becoming) a programmer?

And I also pretty much started typing really well when I was introduced to it. I pretty much passed any typing tests that anyone assigned me. I also had the urge to go one level higher than the one that the computer lab teacher assigned us in 4th grade (I think) :D

HTML
JavaScript (can't remember too much...)
VBScript (can't remember much either...)
Java (learning recently, decent I guess)

we're programming in school, aside from that, the only programming i've done is a program called "TSP" (the super program) which i did with a friend when we were about 7.

That program had it all (hence the name..duh), a russian roulette game, an auto-insulter, an annoying song that kept playing over and over again until you went mad and a painting program. Hehe..

did it in Qbasic too :D
Posted 19 years ago2005-03-14 17:52:32 UTC Post #96870
I've been programming since I was about seven too. I've still got it, actually, along with a cartoon I made in PowerPoint. Let's hear it for QBASIC. Oh, and I made a ZX Spectrum 128 play Beethoven's 9th with various tones simultaneously.

For your enjoyment and comic relief, have a look at it here, noting that the Alexsoft Utilities must be extracted to C:Alexsoft and that you should start it by running START.BAT in C:Alexsoftau2000 when extracted:

I've been coding most of my computer life. But let's get this straight, VBScript, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, ARE NOT programming languages. They are scripting languages. Scripting languages are parsed at runtime, but programming languages are compiled and are run as binary at runtime.
m0p m0pIllogical.
