Hey Fellas Y'all gotta help!
My SDK Launcher won't work. I run it and the following error appears:
The procedure entry point Q_StrSubst could not be located in the dynamyc link libart vstdlib.dll.
Can anybody help me with this problem?

It doesn't say it can't find the file, it says it can't find the entry point. That's some crazy programmer speak which I believe means:

a) the thing looking is screwed up;
b) the thing it's looking in is screwed up.

Raise a support thingy on the Steam support whatnot?

Can you run the games themselves? System specs?

have oyu tried running the game your mapping for since the update? if you're mapping for half life 2, just start a new game of half life 2, then go map and things should be fine, unless that isn't the p =roblem.

When i run Half-Life 2 the error appears 3 times and the game starts.

If you don't have it, then it's a bigger problem, one that is not going to be repaired by just putting the file in the right place. 83-1 it'd immediately be "cannot find <new.dll>".

Have you deleted the caches?

Try doing so by right-clicking the item on the Games list and clickin' "Remove local game content" (or similar).

concerning your journal post, you probably need to legally own half life 2 to map for it.

...i thought that was the guy from good charlotte

and if you map, you don't have any experiences with women. maybe you hear about them, or see pictures of them on the internet, maybe even see some real ones. but you never, EVER come into contact with one, or attemt any kind of communication. you have failed.
Posted 19 years ago2005-03-16 15:49:18 UTC Post #97333
hey man give me a camera i will send you my personal P*** movie. i'm not kidding! I have experience with mapping, but women are my stronger side!

I got the same f****ing problem. I cannot start any of the SDK tools. Always an entry point not found in vstdlib.dll. Maybe it's the wrong versioin of the File? There is an entry point called q_strrchr in vstdlib.dll but for example hammer.dll revers to Q_StrRight in vstdlib.dll. Maybe someone can post the file? please?

Start a new thread for a new problem, don't bump up something months old.
