A factor that may be causing this is the size of the map. It meets all borders :

i have tried lowering the size of the map, but to no avail

It shouldn't fill the grid.

Well I was expecting the average water bug but it looks like a driver problem!

Otherwise it would either look like a static Tv or clear as a window if it was wrong but thats a new error and looks much like a drive bug.

I think it may have to do with my cubemaps becuase it is not rendering the appropriate skybox reflection, yet a reflection of the level. I can get a screen real quick. I was not having this problem until i added a whole new section which doubles this size of the map. There isn't a cubemap in the new area, could that be a contributing factor?

sorry for the triple post : but although it may seem fine, it is refecting the crane that is offscreen, its not properly reflecting anything.

Since it's one big water brush it's got one cubemap which has all the render 'states' in it - split it into multiple little brushes?

actually, ant told me to do that, and it made no difference. I was running the entire map off of 1 cubemap, so i added about 10 more in some specific locations and that seemed to help. The problem is still occuring, but on a much lower scale.

What are all of those blue lines on the left and across the screen? Looks like a leak pointfile.

I'm sure you're building the cubemap after compiling... gotta ask, though, just to check it off the list.

More cubemaps then. ;)

Ok, I added more cubemaps, which like I earlier stated made the area in which the box problem was ocurring smaller, and I eventually changed the terrain around the water from a reflective concrete, to a grass, and that solved the problem, but now, another problem has arose, heres a screen:

Maybe this: http://www.hl2world.com/wiki/index.php/Logic_lineto

It sounds like it might be helpful, but I don't know how to operate it.

By the looks of it I think that it's just too big or VIS is faulty :/

Anyway it looks like it is reflecting entities :?
