I don't know what happened but today I was going to try someones map when I find I can't move in game I can look around and press esc but thats it and all the mouse buttons don't work. When I went to change the keyboard settings nothing was there. What can I do?

options -> keyboard -> use defaults

Well I did say nothing came up on the keyboard menu so thats no use

Not even the 'defaults' button, you mean?

Just edit config.cfg. That should have a ton of bindings in.

The defaults button is there but nothing else and when I click the button nothing happens. And I wouldent know how to edit the config.cfg

The config.cfg file located in Half-Life/valve. You can open this file with any text based program, since cfg files are just text files. So open that file in a text editor, like notepad, and delete everything inside. The paste the following text in the file and save it. These are the default keyboard settings.

Thats what I get Even though I replace the congfig, and It does make the config.cgf. Anyone know what it could be?

You're probably missing kb_act.lst (or it doesn't contain anything), which defines all of the possible commands. This belongs in the <mod>gfxshell folder. There should also be a kb_def.lst (defaults) and a kb_keys.lst (possible keys bindable).

I have both the kb_def,lst and kb_act.lst and they both have stuff in them.

Try deleting the kb_act.lst and kb_def.lst that are in the valvegfxshell folder.

This will cause the game to load the origninal files from the half-life.gcf
