k, i have some sniping spots for dm that are kind of high, and id like to have traps around it for people to shoot to kill the sniper. I like the type like in Hl2 where you shoot the platform and the bar has cables on each end and it swings down and htis everyone. BUt, for DM, i need it to be resetable? any ideas? doesnt need to be this exact type (explosive barrels that drop, etc). also, how do i make the explosive barrels respawn?

The barrels should automatically respawn if they are in a prop_physics_multiplayer. I dont know if traps are a good idea for deathmatch. Most players will quickly learn what to avoid and how to avoid it, so the fun and surprise will soon be gone. Unless the traps are integral part of the map, such as the crossfire airstrike.

Call an "airstrike" type thing like in dm_crossfire? I'm stumped.

Heres my ideas: Get a crane, have it drop its magnet wherever, the bar thing, misc. explosives, and an odd idea, dunno if it would work: You know those gumball bachines that when you guy it it goes through the sequence of rods having it run all of the place...? id like to have a button activate a barrel being deployed on a track that rolls it to key spots. sure, people would just shoot it, but i think itd be neat.

Try something with length_constraints. I don't know on top of my head if you can change lengths but you surely can detach objects so they fall down. I believe you can also restore this attachment to jump the object back into original place, ready to be used again. Look at some of the give example maps in the sdk folders to find out.

You can also teleport objects bytheway, as seen in Kleiners lab level in HL2. Might be of use to you.

ah thanks for the info cap, How would i teleport objects? that way i could just drop it, then have it tele back up in a few seconds
