I made two custom textures(Neo and Smith pics) for my map and u can see them when i make them,etc but when i complie it it says. WARNING couldnt open valvesmith.wad and it says the same for the other WARNING couldnt open valveneo.wad. Y is this happening? (I did use wally and they are divisible by 16,ect and they work until the compliing and it did put -NOWADTEXTURES that thing too.)

Well, are you sure you entered the paths to the WADs correctly in Hammer? Do the textures show in Hammer either?

Does this halt compiling?

Are there copies of the wads in the valve dir?

nonno i made the wads and i then put them in seria then half life then valve with the others.

Make sure you've closed any PAK-exploring proggies, try restarting.

no it didnt work :( could u give me the things ive done wrong
1:got image of Smith and another of Neo and the dimensions are both divisble by 16. Put in WALLY and made a Half life WAD.
2:pasted both these wads to C:SierraHalf-Lifevalvesmithinrain C:SierraHalf-Lifevalveneo and left them there.
3: opened VALVE HAMMER and clicked tools then options and then textures. i clicked add and then put in C:SierraHalf-Lifevalveneo.wad and C:SierraHalf-Lifevalvesmithinrain.wad.
4: put both the pics in the map and yes u could see them.
5: compled the map but added -NOWADTEXTURES on the EXPERT run. Ran the map and then waited. Console comes up and its loading then it says WARNING couldnt open valve/neo.wad

NOTICE THE SLASH IS FACING THE OTHER WAY. IT SAYS valve/neo.wad when it should be valveneo.wad

Paste the .wads to the Valve folder.
Not the valvesmithinrain or the valveneo folder.
Just the plain old VALVE folder....

Add -wadinclude smithinrain -wadinclude neo to your hlcsg.exe line in Expert.

Does that work?

nono there are no smith folders or neo folders. But i will try the -wadinclude smithinrain -wadinclude neo ok ill brb.
