-first map
-game cstrike
-should be posted in the right forum
Others are probably better at diagnosing hl steam errors than myself, are you using the Steam SDK or the external Worldcraft? The compile log shows it executing bsp twice, your path also seems a little strange, how can hlbsp et al be in c:program filessteam? They're usually in steamsteamappsusernamesdketc etc

Program Files/Steam is just where I extracted my tools when I dled the tools. Do I need to move them ?

I put my tools in the "tools" directroy in the valve hammer editor directory, but I'm not sure it matters where they are...try moving them!

Double check/Redo your Game configurations and Build Programs menu settings using the Steam tutorial.

If you still can't get it to work, post screenies of the aformentioned menus.

Incidentally:

What version of Hammer are you using?
What Version of ZHLT are you using?

I am using Hammer 3.4 and using ZHLT 64 bit tools.

Thx fer the reply. I will do the tutorial.

using ZHLT 64 bit tools
Maybe this is the problem. Read below, from zhlt.info:

Most people will want the 32-bit version, if you don't know which one you need, download this one. Even if you have a 64-bit processor (e.g. AMD Athlon 64) you are most probably running 32-bit Windows. If you have a 64-bit processors, and are running Windows 64-bit, download the version for 64-bit processors.

Ok. I finally got my test map to compile and work and everything was fine. But I couldnt get ZHLT tools to work. I ended up having to use qcsg, qbsp2, vis, and qrad. When I download the 32 bit ZHLT tools it wouldnt even try to compile Even when I went in to configuration and redid my directories where my tools are, the maps wont even try to compile. Its like the log i posted at the beginning of this forum. I spent several hours since then building other maps just to play and they worked fine. I finally started making one I wanted to make and now it says i have leaks. I have combed every inch that i can see all around the map. I cannot find a leak anywhere. I even went as far as taking the grids down to 1 and going over it. ( I am still using the crappy tools since I cannot get ZHLT to work).

So basically, what am I doing wrong to make the ZHLT tools not work and the crappy ones try.

I found my problem. I couldnt get the ZHLT tools to work. All I did was use the compiling tools that came with Hammer and everything is fine.

Are you sure you set up your Options<Build Programs correctly? It looks like Hammer couldn't find any of the ZHLT tools.

Giving up and using the Q-tools is a very bad move.

You might want to try using this version of the tools, as the others always gave me problems, and I couldn't ever get them to work.
