Downloading themes and stuff for your PC is just a sign that you spend way too much time in front of it! So, you fail!

Default theme and real life FTW!

But it gives me easy access to thumbnails :( and it's actually fast sometimes. Photobucket is much more of a bother.

I'll agree with you there... those Photobucet users should be made to suffer more intensely than the Imageshack guys.

Rowleybob: That's odd, my mum's theme doesn't ever run on a PC! but I guess if you're in on "ladies" in their 40's who have had 3 kids then knock yourself out! Just don't complane to me when my dad runs after you with the good ol' chainsaw! ;D

is installing new themes hard? never tried it myslef?

by the way, would making a thread for your actual desktop be bad?
not the computer, but the table where you work/play at
Posted 17 years ago2006-11-01 22:08:53 UTC Post #201654
It's been done, but if you want to, go ahead.

As for installing new themes, you'll need the UXTheme Patcher (search Google for it) to override Microsoft's security bullshit. After that, it's pretty cinchy.

I'm impartial to both... It just happens to be that I use PhotoBucket :D .

I guess I'll make an ImageShack account some time later.

EDIT: Woops, missed the last thread page :D

Hey Daubster, may I have your desktop image to use as the background for the GamingParents title banner? It's a gorgeous picture.

What's the dimension for that photo?

the Arcan: No. It's incredibly easy.

Download the UXTheme patcher, then go ahead and download some themes. Dump the themes in your WINDOWS/Resources/Themes folder, and then either open up your Display Properties (right click on Desktop and hit Properties and select the Appearance tab) or just double click the theme file.

UXTheme Patcher isn't a program, it's just a patch to remove MS' security bullshit so you can use unsigned themes.

I hate using those theme programs, they waste far too many resources.

There you go, Satch.
Everyone can freely use em' for a wallpaper, or something..

The wallpaper photo

Another photo, I've taken on the same day. I think, that it'd suit your site theme better. :)

And like I said, the quality isn't superb on full-res. Resizing it by half makes it look much sharper..

Thanks, Daubster. I think they are superb!

Not only am I going to use it as my wallpaper, but it's going to be the background for the banner graphics.

[EDIT]: I have implemented a new design for the banner using Daubster's photograph. You can check it out. I think it turned out nicely. :)
