is there a way to make simple stair cases other than making a bunch of brushes?

plus please check out my cs map and make comment i need more feedback "cs_small" in incomplete part of map vault

No there really kind of isnt.
If you dont want a flat boring thing, with no actual steps.

make a big box the hieght and width of your staircase, make another on, thin, but long, as tin as you want the stairs to be. Make the graph so that when you press up and then right, the thing will make a new stair. Then use the carve tool. Thats how I do it, it only takes a few seconds.

or u can make spiral stairs easy with te arch tool.

well stairs are easy, make a couple of blocks, join them together, make sure they're climable (18height-) then walla you done, however lole steve said a good tutorial shud help you make spiral stair cases,

however i would say use trial and error for this
