While that page has a lot of overly-patriotic banter on it, go ahead and read the story near the top about Channon Christian and Chris Newsom.
The animals pictured above "allegedly" raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch it happen. An even more cruel fate awaited her...

Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth ... and then murdered her.

The mainstream media coverage of these murders have been glaringly absent from network television and nationwide newspapers. What coverage is available is watered down with legalese and charges. The coverage neglects to tell America how brutally and senselessly these young people were murdered.
I like to consider myself pretty desensitized, but this really got to me. I had planned a long rant shunning mainstream media for it's utter failure to inform the general public of this horrific event, but I think the article speaks for itself. And in case you're wondering whether that story is exaggerated, go ahead and Google their names. You'll get plenty of the same.

Well, what'd you expect? Media and especially news coverage has turned shit-cocks all over the world in general and in the US in particular. It's not a race to inform people, it's a race to get viewers - period. No obligations, no real journalism, just sensationalism to the bone. It sucks.

To be honest, I'm quite happy we've got state-sponsored television and news coverage here. I kind of trust it.

By the way, I saw this story on, low and behold, 4chan first. 4chan ftw.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it indeed is true. Man, I hate people..

Oh beautiful world in which we live and love.

I believe in the eye for an eye concept. They should do to those fuckers what they did to Channon and Chris.

I believe in the eye for an eye concept.
But the whole world will end up one-eyed :( .

yawn, methinks you shouldnt believe everything you read, especially is the story is written on a biased view. Words like "animals" to describe humans do not belong in professional newspapers and therefor makes the credability doubtful

This reminds me of how a few months ago, this girl who went to my school was murdered.

The news didn't have any cover on it, except for this little article on their website.

They didn't want to show coverage just because she was murdered when she was at her job, as a female escort service.

The news coverage in this world is so fucked up its not even funny. When Anna Nicole died, she was all over every channel, like its something that affected all americans.

Modern journalism is a joke.

Dude, Orph, it's not about what's on the news here, it's about what isn't. Turning it off isn't gonna help anything in this case.

It was the only page I could find that actually went into detail about the murders... believe me, thats definitely not where I get my news.

News (to me) that is worth reporting is stuff like 'safer treatment for cancer' 'NASA builds first pulse fire engine for shuttles' or 'bat boy helps troops find Osama bin-laden using echo location.' well not so much that last one but you get the idea. I like the moments we're NOT doing fucked up shit to eachother and working as a team to actually get someone as a whole. This murder was stupid and senseless, which makes it stupid and senseless to report. As well, it is a little too extreme if you ask me. Might have been dodged because of it. But i dunno, maybe there's still an investigation going on or something.

I would agree that there's not enough positive news and way, waaaaay too much sensationalism (and gossip) but the media still have an obligation to report news, no matter if they're stupid and senseless :P . I think the big networks are quite selective about what they tell us, and what they tell us really does matter; for most people, me included, the media shapes our view of the world and doing so affects our opinions and beliefs.

Americas goin to shit in many ways. I used to want to be a navy seal and fight for my country but now, who wants to fight for a country that hides things from its people. America wasnt earned by so many brave men to become this way. Anyone should beable to say anything they want about anyone or anything. If someone wanted to say they hate a race of people, thats freedom of speech even thow you shouldnt say it. Simply stating facts should definetly not be held against due to bs like that. Anyways thow, if that story is true than those people will be delt with by God. Life on earth is a tiny spec compared to the afterlife."my belief anyway"

Can't trust in god to deal with matters that concern society, though.
