I'm getting a computer and it comes with a, integrated intel exteme graphics card. Can this support HL with GOOD grapghics? Help, I need info on it in the next few hours. Thnks

You can always stick in a decent (normal) graphics card? Check motherboard details/post the link here if it's a webstore.

i believe intel extreme at 128mb. Is that what it is do you know?

intergrated gfx are worse than a card plugged into the AGP or PCI slots.. that's all i know.

just coz integrated arent as good as plugins doent mean "your done for". most games dont need that high a gfx card anyway

Did no one notice when I held a speech about integrated graphics earlier this year. Or was it last year. Anyway:
Integrated graphic cards uses the PC system memory for storage of textures. Therefor it will use up far more RAM that could have gone to other processes such as AI. System memory is also not optmized for graphic storage. The RAM on a graphics card is and is so much faster. Integrated cards also has a limited set of functions compared to the original card. And it has no extra Fan which would cool of the graphic processor and make it faster.

Good sound advice ;)

Get a mid-range card form the internet... mid-range is all you need to get good gfx in half-life, remember, its 5 years old...

a good gfx card should only cost arround E50 ;)
