uhm i am new to this so i figured i would open like office or dust and just play around with editing some things... but i have no idea how to open the bsp or convert it or what tools to use and whatnot... thank for whomever helps me lol

Welcome to the neighborhood!
You're new so we'll let you live... this time. ;) To open a BSP in an editor you will have to decompile it, which is uncool. Search the forums for "decompile" and you'll see the discussion on why some people (like me) think decompiling is bad. If you actually want detailed info or tools I'd suggest hitting google.com.

I'd say skip the decompile and read the tutorial section, many have example maps. There are even more examples in the vault. Mounds of information, just waiting to be absorbed. Go... absorb... map!

There really should a forum rule for decompiling under these circumstances.
If you really REALLY need to see the maps then ask the respective authors and they might email you back some snippets.

Although as CS is now a retail game this is unlikely.

Just wait until you read the TCPA or whatever that new cpu cartell of Microsoft and other major cpu companies. I'm changing to linux.
