Anyone else pre-ordered AudioSurf ?

I hadn't even heard of it till i read the Steam News Post and I love the idea so i went and got it. I mean "Still Alive Surfing" really sold it to me :)

Has potential for lulz in LAN and online-with-mates situations.
Opinions?

Interesting, did not know of this. I'll check it out after release.

..your Steam skin fails.

EDIT: I think you intended to link this instead of the Steam news twice. ;)

Valve tracks (TF2, Portal) are the most played songs in AudioSurf. Win.

You just race and collect colored blocks for points. More clusters of the same colored block equals bigger points.

anyone noticed it's no.1 on the most selling list on Steam?
Posted 16 years ago2008-02-18 14:59:47 UTC Post #245923
But yet still it's pretty addicting. I'm planning to buy it one day when I get other things out of the way. Otherwise I'll keep buying 5-15$ little things and keep running out of money like always. =]
Posted 16 years ago2008-02-18 17:35:39 UTC Post #245935
Well, i recommend buying it. Because it's 300x more addicting than peggle was for me. And i love how you can use your own music. Flying to my own band's soundtrack is pretty.. invigorating haha :pwned:

it's awesome. It really is.

And there's great competition between a few people who like the same tracks as you to be top of the global scoreboard :>

This is fucking awesome.

I was really skeptical at first, but when I found out that songs I add will work I came.

It's really fun, I just wish I had 10 dollars to buy it now, would be so worth it.

If there's any Arctic Monkey fans out there, try A Certain Romance, a great blend of fast / slow parts, so it's the best run I had today.

Great stuff.

I liked how Critical Acclaim by Avenged Sevenfold worked on that.

I absolutely do not understand anything above beginner, lol. It blows my mind.

Also, I ended up 'acquiring' this. Still wish I could buy it, though.

which one. the original? or that one that one guy did for GH3?
Posted 16 years ago2008-02-18 19:56:31 UTC Post #245947
The original. Whoever covered it for GH3 ruined Guitar hero for me. I lost all respect for that game after playing that song. :zomg:

Audiosurf is AWESOME I have to say. It's great, I've dug up old, crappy dance tunes I listen to when I was 12 and played 'em through the game. Great fun!

What about a compo?

The Hunter (since he intoduced AudioSurf on TWHL the first) picks a song, makes it available for download, then everyone else downloads it and try to get the highest score for that song in a week time (or shorter/longer) and the person with the highest score at the end of that period gets to choose the next song and so on, and so on, and so on. We can have a public score table for each song that's been played. Statistics ftw.

Fun anyone?

that would be awesome. I already have the High Score for The Fad by Chevelle under Pro. =]

You'd either have to have 3 prizes or limit everyone to a certain category (Beginner, Pro, Elite). Rawr, this will be awesome.

Here is my idea about how to select the winner to choose the next song.
Everybody is free to try casual, pro and elite.

So you can have scores on every board (casual, pro, elite)
1st place worths - 3 points
2nd place - 2 points
3rd place - 1 point

The member with the most points wins at the end of the week and gets to choose the next song.

oops uhm...I forgot to post the final scores.
Well, the compo ended (few days ago actually, yea I'm lazy)

here is the scoreboard
User posted image
1-2) Kasrkin = 7 points
1-2) Penguinboy = 7 points
3) The Mighty Atom = 2 points

We have a tie! Since I really cant think of any songs to upload right now.
Penguinboy can go ahead and start the next challenge by uploading a song of his choice.
