I and a friend of mine came up with lots of lyrics for rock/metal songs, and would like to put these lyrics to music. There?s only one problem: we have absolutely no experience in playing any instrument whatsoever, so we would like to make these songs in some kind of simple music editor, that doesn?t require us to know ? for example ? how to play a guitar.

I was thinking of an editor, that uses samples, i.e. different guitar riffs. I know that there are lots of programs out there, but I couldn?t really find one, where you can use electric guitar riffs as samples.

So, does someone know such a music editor?

give up, metal can't be synthed,hip-hop can.

start learning the instruments

kraken is right.
i mean, it CAN be synthed, but it'd be NO good at all.
and if you can figure out notes/chords and put them to a music editor, its not much harder to learn to play the instrument itself
besides, its a nice skill to have really.

Fruity Loops is the standard, so I hear.

These lyrics and songs would only be made for the lulz, it's a parody of a philosophy teacher on our Uni, who we renamed to Super Cock. So it's not particularly deep, and we don't want to create a masterpiece.

That's why we would like to use a simple application, in which we can put some primitive songs together.

Btw, I'm planning on learning how to play guitar in the summer, but I think that we wouldn't need such knowledge for these type of songs.

Thanks, that would be great - if you have any spare time with all that work on 6D, of course. I could send you the lyrics of our title song "Super Cock".:D

Magix Music Maker is my response . The commercial one ( there are 2 versions) has lots of synthetisors.
I was thinking of an editor, that uses samples
Yep , Magix music maker is mostly based on sound loops .

I've been having fun with Ableton Live, a fairly advanced and powerful audio sequencer. Available for free if you're illegal.

For metal though? I don't know. I mean, the instruments are available in most audio sequencers, but I've never heard an electronically produced metal song. Good luck, though.

I also have Ableton Live Line 6 edition, for my guitar, great program!

Well I acquired Fruity Loops, and started making stuff, seems simple and usable. But I'll also take a look at this Ableton Live, thanks for the tip.
