There's this big contreversy in Canada about sreetview, people are calling it an invasion of privacy, even though licence plates and faces are blurred out. Shame, because I look forward to using it on my hometown, and maybe finding myself if I'm there when the car goes by. What do you guys think?

I don't see what's the problem really. I find it an interesting way to see other places, which comes in handy when you're going somewhere you don't know. It's great to see the place from street level instead of from 3000 metres in the air. I'm looking forward to having it in my area as well, although I don't think I need to go anywhere new. (would have been great a year ago but that's another story).

It's also a fun tool for cheap tourism. But if they don't like it in Canada, I guess I'll have to save up and go there myself :P

They stopped right next to my town which saddened me since I left a note on my window saying "Hello Google love Habboi." It's been up there for a month now XD

I must admit it does allow people to snoop. My parents crowded round the PC and used it to look at their bosses / friends houses. But whatever. Think of how useful it could be.

I mean imagine a website that says "to find us click here" which then brings up a map and then a view of what the street looks like.

It's not a big deal. People have nothing better to do except getting worked up over petty shit like this. Next they're going to try and make it illegal to stare at people's houses because it's an invasion of privacy.

I never understood it either. Its petty and ridiculous. If looking at 360 degree images of streets on the Internet is an invasion of privacy then surely by that reckoning, actually walking down a street and reading number plates and looking at people's faces is an arrestable offence. :zomg:

Every time some great new technology like this comes out, there's always a few assholes looking to spoil everybody else's time with it.

A lot of people complain about it because they were caught in porno shops when they should have been at home babysitting.
