I think (not sure) those appear when your/a model is placed unsuccesfully(or whatever :) ).
Try looking over all of your models(weapons, NPCs, monsters etc) too see if they look any suspicous(touching walls or something)

Try placing your models/monsters afew units abouve the ground. They will automaticaly float down to meet it.

Well I think zombieloffe is right. But the only way they could be inside something is the all. I put all weapons/monsters through 3d view mode. So they cant be in the ground.

The yellow glowing things are created because your model is partly inside something, as zombieloffe said. It doesnt matter how little the model is touching something it will still do it. What i'd do is put the models quite a bit off the ground like JB said and another thing to do is check where the models actually are in the compiled version. I had this problem once and i couldnt figure it out, the models werent touching anything, but when i played the map i noticed that they werent in the position i had set them in, so i deleted them and re did them. Worked fine.

the models can touch the ground

make sure there is enough side space for the monsters - for headcrabs - 16 on each side, for grunts - 32 is enough - for gargs/mommas - large flat open spaces only

All of the above +
Model placement can be difficult at times, where you think it is Ok might not be. A model will be spawned in the map at a point determined by it's center. And it's center isn't always it's physical center.
The only easy way to get this right is get a copy of Hammer 3.5 beta, but since it was never released as a final, it has limited functionality.
I use it to place comple models and check orientation, then switch back to 3.4.

ok, I always have that, its when a monster or something else touch each other at the start, or get stuck in the wall. can you see the monster or is it just the yeloow stuff? When it happens to me, the glowing stuff follows the monster (Cool, but bad).

Just make shure the monster isn't above an item or another monster.

BYEBYE.

BL, did you read any of the thread??.... I think everyone said that already

Strange... I've never had any of these problems. Does the space required count from the center of the entity? :|

its safer to count from the sides Hammer 3.5 makes.

have a look at HL - there isn't many tight spaces in there
