If she could get into Harvard, none of us has any excuse not being able to do it.

Yes, I read a bit about Khadijah's story from a blog somewhere which I can't remember now. There's even talk that they might make a TV movie based on here life story. Hey satchmo, about what you said not having any excuse not being able to do it, well I can think of one very big reason: Harvard's tuition fees! Unlike Khadijah's special case, not everybody is lucky enough to receive the massive financial help needed to go to this kind of prestigious school. And then there's the academic part of it - not everybody has the intellectual brain power like our good girl Khadijah has to even be noticed, much less accepted to Harvard. But I do accept that there is no excuse to at least not try to go to another, less prestigious and hyper expensive school, there just isn't.

I always wished i could buckle down and rise above the rest of my class.

But everyone should go to college.

If you have the scores, school pays for itself with scholarships.
I don't know what to say about this, those in the poor or lower class have a ton of motivation and drive to succeed. Those in the upper class have the money to get as much schooling as they need, and their successful background teaches them only success.

The middle class is in a limbo of crap because financial aid favors the lower class because it takes them longer to pay it off and the agencies make a ton of money from the interest. Middle class doesn't qualify for much because they make just enough money past the threshhold.

Take it from me, I have had little to nothing growing up. I take my craft very seriously.

Free education should be the basis of all democracies. Naturally, all education should be free (e.g. tuition fees are universally abolished).

That's always been my firm belief. If it works here, it'd work anywhere.

I don't get why university fees are being brought back in Ireland. It sucks for intelligent people who can't afford to go to university. Scholarships aren't always given based on academic achievement. For example, women who enter an engineering course in Ireland automatically receive a sum of money. The reason for this is that most engineering students are male, but it's still undeniably sexist.

I'm attending university next year with no school marks at all...because I was home-schooled all my life. It's not that hard.

I have 2 friends going to Harvard, it must be easier to get into than I thought.
