I think you need to work more on the textures on the first image of every pair of photographs.

Turn down the lightmap scale to 2 on the stairs so that the shadows cast from the rails show up on them.

Looks like that area under the stairs could use some more work, too :)

It's looking great. I'd make the stairs steeper (shorter), but I suppose you were constrained by the shape of the model rails.

Agree with disco the stairs should be steeper and steps themselves should be shorter in depth, but it looks pretty good!

Exactly. You understand my constraint.

The stair railing model is a perfect match for the real thing, so I had to use it.

In fact, I actually shortened the stairs as much as possible already without making the mismatch too noticeable.

no offense but I really liked everything BUT the stairs. Looks more like a ramp. In the real picture you have two rails for every stair and they actually touch the stair. I think you are a good enough mapper to make those rails by hand--they won't look that different. I would go for the six sided shape that the actual stair has too--I have always wanted to make some stairs that were shaped like that.

@kdunivan: you're looking at the wrong picture. The actual rails are all square or rectangular in profile.

I too would try with brush rails, for the above reason. It shouldn't be too hard.

Hmm, proportions seem off somehow, and I'm not sure if it's just the ingame FOV or actual proportions being off. Other than that, what others said.

I think it's pretty decent.
