(I just added the book in there for the hell of it.)

Please add light blurs to mods and non-games (demos) when posting steam screenshots, so they aren't confused for actual games.

crollo gets plus points for old school Op4 package. I loved back then when packages were huge -- clumsy as hell, but somehow it felt epic. The only such package I have left is Messiah.

Hmm, ZombieLoffe, I didn't know that you're into the Sims.

I'll take a picture when my son wakes up from his nap.

I'm not -- both of those are my sister's and very, very old. The original Sims CD and package are lost to time.

In fact, most of my retail games are quite outdated -- I only buy online these days.

I've got a SNES and a Super Wild Card SMS3201, but unfortunately I've lost the power cable. The only SNES game I own is Blackhawk (AKA Blackthorne), one of the worst video games I've ever played. But thanks to the SWC I can play most downloaded ROMs on the SNES. Once I get a new power cable, that is.
Posted 13 years ago2010-06-20 18:54:53 UTC Post #282173
I'm not familiar with this Super Wild Card thing. What is it exactly?

(Not my photo)

Mounted on a SNES, it lets you play SNES games stored in ROM files. You transfer ROM files from another SWC or a PC through a serial cable or using floppy disks. You can play most games with it, only a few whose copy protection hasn't been cracked or with special chips inside the game cartridge won't play (like Super Mario Kart which has a built-in graphics chip).

and what is the Gunman Chronicles?
Well, disregarding the fact you could've gotten the answer yourself through a few seconds of googling...

Gunman Chronicles is an awesome mod of Half-Life turned retail. Has a bunch of cool weaponry and enemies. It's a singleplayer experience on par with Half-Life's singleplayer campaign.

Here's a fun quiz, how many of your games have been bought while on sale?

Need for speed undercover.
Burnout paradise the ultimate box.
Osmos.

So basically i didn't really pay 50$ for all those games.

(In fact i didn't even pay for them, a very generous friend bought them for me, still though...)

Throw in Starcraft & Brood War, along with Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne, Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, a few random shit games like Halo 1, and that's about it.

Not even going to bother with the PS2 games, traded most of em in already for Gamestop credit. Not going to bother with the N64 either, none of them have boxes, and I don't feel like hassling myself.
Posted 13 years ago2010-06-23 22:19:23 UTC Post #282305
Only half of my SNES games have their boxes, and that doesn't make those without box less worth to me.

Doom 3 wasn't by any means good by today's standards, but it felt "Doom-y" to me. I'd only buy it if they're both cheap as hell if I were you. Also, it was lacking some from Doom 1 and 2.

It was the same thing with Quake. At least in my opinion. After quake 1, not a single quake game gave me the same feeling.

Quake II was pretty good for me.

But Quake 4 was a piece of shit.

However, I bought Quake 4 for $4.99, so it wasn't a big loss.

My favourite Quake was Quake 2, followed by Quake 3. That may be because I've never really played Quake 1 or 4, but hey.
