Ok, after all that steam network bullshit, a new problem has arisen.

Basically, every time I want to connect to a source server( and by that I mean any server of any source-based game), my modem resets. Is there a solution to this? What can be causing such a problem?

Odd, works fine for me- Oh wait, you need to install the steam beta to use server browser, nevermind.

Steam might be overloading your modem when you try to access the masterservers, google it.

It stops at "Sending client info", then it either resets the modem either it stays frozen there and if I retry it says something like "Steam validation rejected". Tried deleting clientregistry.blob and it still doesn't work. HL1 works in mp though, it only does this withing the source engine.

And what specific problem should that be when all of my other games connect to the internet normally?

Source has no way of forcing your modem to reset either; there's no reason why the game is causing your modem to do anything. Did you google your particular model of modem and steam/source to see if anyone else is having the same problem?

Well from what I saw there, it seems to be my modem( a 516v2 speedtouch).

If anybody knows what this data means, is it bad or worse? :Because somebody said that the number of errors is a bit high.

CRC errors means that it's failed to pass a CRC check meaning the data uploaded was corrupt, you have 852 CRC check errors.
