A few of my func_illusionary's disappear in-game from certain viewing angles and distances. They just vanish. I move to another spot or turn the camera to a different angle, and they reappear. Huh? The entities are covered by clip brushes, but that shouldn't be causing it. I fear this might be a sign of a video card going faulty, but I REALLY hope it's something else. Can anyone help?

edit: I have the latest gpu drivers and the latest directx

if u have A LOT of brush-based entities, try combining some, e.g., make seperate multiple func walls ONE func wall.

It's most likely only caused by having too many entities rendered at once. Perhaps you could combine multiple similar brush entities into a single entity, etc.

This doesn't necessarily mean all offending entities are within your direct field of view, the game may consider a whole larger area as within your field of view. You'd have to look up hint brushes, but I other more knowledged users will explain this better.

Read the following post by someone well knowledged in the subject:

What makes you think I know anything about hint brushes?

hint brushes are lie.

Yeah I know. But every time it takes me a second to realise.

The crafty bastard's title gets me all the time as well. A very small part of me wishes it was true, because that's just cruel.

It does teach you a thing about the human brain though; A word doesn't have to be spelled correctly if it's simple and common enough to be interpreted without second readings.

Combining entities fixed it. Thanks.
