I got quite a lot of lag too in the beginning. Like most modpacks, I turned down the "fancy" settings and turned on the OpenGL support thing to limit what blocks are drawn. Draw distance is normal at least and I get minor or negligible amounts of lag. I had to do this with tekkit which was FAR MORE laggier with all of the pipes and machinery running all of the time.

And atom, turn on the teleporting thing.

Yeah, lowering the draw distance should help increase performance as well as turning down the fancy setting. You should both try that, TJB and Tawn, because I want more people to play AotBT. :)

Something that's pissing me off is that there is no info one most of the stuff. The wiki is terribly incomplete and its hard to find a lot of info regarding what the interactions are and how to make some stuff. The NEI doesn't show the Recipe for a lot of things.

I know what you mean Rim. While trying it initially, I was having fun with the guns from Flan's Mod (FYI, scopes don't work), but I couldn't see how to build them, or attack and tools to the walkers.

As for the settings, I'll play around with them and see if I can get some improvement. Otherwise, I'll have to get off my ass and do a fresh 64-bit install of Ubuntu, possibly waiting for 14.04 (running 32-bit 12.04 atm).

Good times...

I didn't get a screenshot of my ore processing plant before I logged off for the day. It works fast and its only half done. No need to make it too big I guess. I have 1 pulverizer that doubles the ore output, then electric furnaces that turn them into ingots. It got through stacks of ore in about 20 minutes, works faster than the ones in tekkit, although the ones in AOTBT don't seem to upgrade. I wonder if the galacticraft ones do?

Dude, what the! TORNADO'S?! Really? Didn't knew we had those in the pack. Fricker!

And my place is so unorganized, I haven't even finished my house yet.

And is that ore processing plant really better than fortune 3 when it comes to producing ingots? What mod is it part of?

Thermal Expansion.

Super pick for extra ore. Pulverizer for 2 dust per processed ore. Electric furnace for fast cooking of the ore dust into ingots. It works pretty fast with my current setup. Though ore processing is like a Tier 2 tech thing compared to the galacticraft things. We have a ways to go yet.

The tornado doesn't damage anything. It picks up loose things like players, animals, and items and tosses them about. It did no damage to me since I was morphed into a bat and didn't take fall damage.

I also just found out you can make big flags with your face on it. I'M STAKING MY CLAIM! I CLAIM THAT FOREST AS MY TURF! GET OFF MY LAWN! lol.

My current project is making said flag and getting the farming things under way. I have a few farm plots and cleared a bunch of land for more stuff. Growing cotton is a waste of time if you have a bunch of sheep, it's faster.

I also want to get into the Tropicraft stuff at some point. You can capture fish and make aquariums. Tropicraft also comes with a new tropic-only world so I'll need to figure out how to get there and back.

No, it involves me and a giant dinosaur with a top hat. XD

I'm actually stuck in the tropics and can't get back to the overworld :*(

EDIT: did some experimentation in singleplayer. When you morph into a extremely large dinosaur, it can crush the land and make it flat. Like, super massive land flattening capabilities. The problem is that it only changes the terrain on the client side of things. Even in single player, the server never updates and the player gets horribly stuck. I guess it overloads.

EDIT 2: Server has to be restarted. It's not letting me sign in.

They updated it and added 3 mores mods. I know BIBLIOCRAFT is one of them!

WOOHOO!

EDIT: I'm getting a constant error that prevents me from joining the server. I tried the latest build and it didn't work, and the current build after a reinstall just said the same thing...

That's probably because the 1.0.10a update w/ Bibliocraft isn't official/recommended yet.

1.0.9c is still the standard build.
TawnosPrime TawnosPrimeI...AM...CANADIAN!
Posted 9 years ago2014-04-17 12:18:05 UTC Post #318733
I hope you did'nt upgrade, Rim because I'm sticking to 1.0.9c. 1.0.10a is indeed the latest, it has been for a while but it is not recommended for reasons I don't know.
Although the AotBT server where Youtube Let's Players Paulsoaresjr and BdoubleO play on is using the 1.0.10a version. And dang, Bibliocraft is indeed awesome. I want that in the vanilla game. Vanilla needs more ways to showcase items, chests are boring.

I'll just stick to 1.0.9c until they push out the next recommended update of AotBT.

Also, I've been looking into teleportation to waypoints on the MapWriter map. It seems that the mod is using the built-in vanilla teleport code to teleport players, which means that you need to be an OP to use that feature. Kinda stupid, you should just be able to whitelist players that aren't OP's to allow waypoint teleportation. Soo... sorry.

I can't connect to the server. It says "The following multiparts are not installed: PR_RFIRE"

SP works fine but are you sure the server is 1.0.9c?

EDIT: I just reinstalled AOTBT and it didn't solve it... wtf.

I found a solution and its not on my end. The server needs to update because something on the server's modpack is different than anything I have. Even if I run 1.0.9c, something is JUST different enough to kick me off. Reinstall 9c or update it to a newer version.

However, collected hats, killed mobs to morph into and explored terrain on the minimap are lost. Sorry.

Never morph into anything larger than a Ghast. Unfortunately the problems dinosaurs cause seem carelessly untested with the morph mod. Dinosaurs have been known to destroy lots of servers so this problem isn't uncommon.

EDIT: I died in the tropics and lost all of my stuff!!! It didn't teleport me back to the portal because the map is different. I'm completely stuck!!!

Yes it is different. Must have generated a new seed.

It wouldn't be too missed if you started over. I have nothing, stuck in the tropics, need diamonds to make a new portal to get to a home that is no longer way pointed or might not even be there.

Like I said I wouldn't mind a clean slate. I'm so fucking pissed.

Hey, I would like to play in this server. What are the requirements - Minecraft version, mods? and whats the IP?
Posted 9 years ago2014-04-20 13:10:15 UTC Post #318824
I still need to update the first post but the server is currently running the modpack Attack of the B-Team.

To play, download the Technic launcher:
http://www.technicpack.net/attack-of-the-bteam

Run it and select the Attack of the B-Team modpack from the vertically scrolling list to the left. Click the small gear/cog icon and set select 'manually select a build'. At the top, select version 1.0.10b - Latest. Then click the play button and let the launcher do it's thing. This could take a couple of minutes.

IP is: 85.236.109.81:33265
I also need your Minecraft username, so you can be whitelisted.

Found a flaw in the modpack. There's no junglewood trees in Biomes 0'Plenty so you can't find or grow Cocoa for chocolate things in the food plus mod. It's really defeating.

Sooooo uhm... Atom if you could drop some jungle saplings in my mail box, that'd be greeeeat. :D

The Mad Carrot The Mad CarrotMad Carrot
Posted 9 years ago2014-04-27 02:12:23 UTC Post #318942
Each of the Biomes o'Plenty trees have their own kind of wood and the closest I've found was Tropical. Cocoa needs the regular minecraft kind. It has the id of 6:3

I've been testing wood hoping for a workaround but I haven't found any solutions. It is possible to get cocoa by making brown wool using brown dye from Iris' and smashing it in a pulverizer. It then gives me what IT thinks the brown wool is made of, giving me 4 string and a 30% chance of cocoa. Farming like this is the biggest pain in the ass, as you also cannot farm Iris and must find it in the wild.

Give me some trees, I'll share.

Weird. Is your AotBT version correct? You'll need 1.0.10b. Try allocating more memory by clicking the cog icon at the top right. Also try lowering graphics settings in MC itself, draw distance, graphical settings, that kind of stuff. Otherwise I wouldn't know what's going on.

I'll drop off some sappies soon-ish. :)

No, the old map.
I think it's better to wait until 1.8 hits as it brings new map features, before we start a new map.
Unless you really can't stand the large biomes map feature that we have going with the current map, I'm happy to start a new map right now, but know that you're going to have to deal with ugly borders with 1.7 and 1.8 chunks next to each other when 1.8 is out and running, because the world seed updates.
