That's a new one, haven't heard of it until now.

EDIT: AotBT looks weird. I never got into anything other than Tekkit Classic as it sort of made sense with its machinery. I haven't tried this new pack yet.

Is it me or you added exactly nothing to the paintings texture?
Posted 10 years ago2014-03-28 05:44:42 UTC Post #318474
I think you'll find he added first on the second row.

Atom must have just overwritten the image with the new one, hence why it's in the image before Rim's as well.

Oh. Right. Makes sense. Sorry Rim, my bad.
Posted 10 years ago2014-03-28 13:59:59 UTC Post #318479
Yup, I've overwritten the image so there's always a latest version of the texture.

The pack may be weird, but seriously, all the stuff you can do, build and craft is... insane.

Totally pointless but funny as hell is the morph mod where you can morph into any mob that you have slaughtered. Morph into a bat for example and you can fly! You can even morph into other players that you've slain, but only if PVP is on.

Check out these AotBT LP's to get an idea of what you can do:

Ok so if we ever going to install this modpack on the server, we can count Rimrook out.

As interesting and crazy as this mod pack is, with everything you can do and will be going on, especially with all the new mobs, I think those of us that currently have some issues with lag, will have an increased problem with it.
TawnosPrime TawnosPrimeI...AM...CANADIAN!
Posted 10 years ago2014-03-29 20:34:28 UTC Post #318496
Lag is excessive network latency. You only get an overhead while your client downloads the pack, right after you join, and then it's all client-side so after that everything should be the same as before.

What I've noticed is that the pack is not cached, it's downloaded every time even if it's not changed. They should cache it somehow...

I may fiddle around with AotBT and experiment before going onto the server if you install it. Let everyone know if you install it, definitely.

Attack of the B-Team is up an running! I'll update the OP later.

To play, download the launcher here:
http://www.technicpack.net/attack-of-the-bteam

Run it and select the Attack of the B-Team modpack from the vertically scrolling list to the left, click play and let the launcher do it's thing. Server IP address is unchanged.

Pretty.

OH NOES! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TWHL BANK? D:

+ Biomes O'Plenty. That'll add a great variety to everything.
+ Galacticraft. Gives everyone a sort of ultimate goal! I like that. I've played it but never managed to get anywhere yet.
+ Project Red. Excellent replacement for the cables, logic and lights from Red Power.
+ Sync. BECAUSE WHY NOT.
  • Secret Rooms. That mod is weird.
  • I'd have loved to see Railcraft on that list. Especially if there's great distances to travel. Partially mitigated by Sync, but still I maintain my point.
  • No Computercraft. Missed the opportunity to set up communication stations.
  • WHERE DID THE TWHL BANK GO D:

Joined the server
It was night.
Zombies surrounded me.
Logging out and back in used to despawn the mobs. It didn't.
Zombies killed me right before daylight killed them.
I respawned a few metres back.
As a zombie.
Daylight killed ME.
Twice.
Fuck this shit.
Less than a minute in-game and I'm already in a predicament I can't get myself out of. I didn't know it was even possible to turn into a zombie.

Find yourself a bat, kill it, and you can fly!

I will re-enable the keepInventory gamerule and disable insta-morph when you acquire a new morph.

Anyone know how much space you need for AotBT?

I'm running low and have been too lazy to back up and restore (update to 13.10). :P

Yes. But you don't have to manually download and install each one of them yourself, the launcher takes care of that.

Just simply download the Technic launcher from the AofBT website, select the AofBT modpack and the launcher will then automatically download and install all the required mods as soon as you click the Play button. Downloading and installing all the mods can take up to 5 minutes-ish.
My .technic folder is a little over 500 MB in size, so I guess that's the minimum amount of space you'll need to play AotBT.

Thanks Rim, I did a quick internet search and came up with nothing. I didn't even know it was one of the mods. Guess I spoiled the surprise for everyone :P

I'll investigate. I'll also need a Batman skin :badass:

I played for 15 minutes and claimed a small plot near-ish to spawn in that pine forest. My inventory is already stuffed with flowers and seeds I want to plant. Something I noticed was something called "Chisel" which is another mod. It has a lot of decorative blocks and such which is nice. Also, it appears Microblocks made a come-back in this pack as well. I've got some serious building to do but I don't think equivalent exchange is in it. :(

Yeah, we're all villagers for the day. Not a great joke, but not bad.

I'm having trouble w/ the mod pack. I tried playing a single player map for a minute or two, and the game closed automatically twice. I'm not sure what's unhappy, but something is.

Try reinstalling from scratch. Delete the .technic folder from %appdata% and let the Technix launcher download a fresh installation of AofBT.

Tried that, still getting "white outs" (no picture but things keep going on).

I don't think Technic likes Linux, or at least Ubuntu 12.04.

EDIT Found my problem. Apparently 4 GB of RAM isn't enough.

Crap. I just found out that Bibliocraft is not included in version 1.0.9 of the AotBT modpack. It was one of those mods that got me excited for AotBT. Oh well, hopefully the next stable release will have Bibliocraft included.

Cap'n, try vanilla for a few days, get comfortable with it. Large mod packs are not for the faint of heart :P

I've been playing for quite a while now and I still feel overwhelmed by the amount of things these mod packs add. It'll take time to get acquainted with everything.

After I took this screenshot after finishing the house, I played with furniture and realized I may have to expand a bit in the direction of those birch trees. I need the room already and I don't have much. This mod demands a lot of space I've noticed.

How did you do the tile floor?
Posted 10 years ago2014-04-07 21:00:10 UTC Post #318591
Use a chisel and use smooth marble with it.
I don't like the floor and I'm looking to change it. If you want the Marble, you can have it when I do that. I need a wooden floor.

EDIT: Why is no one playing? This modpack is so much fun!!!

I tried joining the server before but it wouldn't connect, and I haven't really had time to try and figure out why. I have 6 hours free today though, and all of next week free, so you can probably expect me to be on then.

@TJB: The server is running the Attack of the B-Team modpack using MC version 1.6.4. You'll need the Tekkit launcher to download the modpack. You can't connect to the server with the vanilla launcher. Scroll up a bit to see how to install it.

But yes, get on, people. There's tons of content, things to play with and things to discover in the modpack. It's nuts.

Bummer, you're missing out on a lot of cool stuff. I've just upgraded my superduper pickaxe. It has Fortune 3, Haste (increased mining speed), auto-repair and auto-smelt. This is good because you can now mine iron and gold and it'll drop ingots instantly and thanks to fortune, there's a change to get even more ingots out of just one block.

So, w00t! User posted image
