Hello :)
I have question about that new CS:GO and Hammer editor...
Is it really still the same?
i mean it's 2013 we have space stations. soon we are going to visit mars and stuff.
Unreal'99 in 1999 had map editor that could render lights/fog etc etc in there and newest counter strike still have VHE which can't even render lights?

It's one of the drawbacks of hammer. There's no real light preview.
You need to compile to see what it's going to look like in-game.

Trust me. It's a bummer. I use UDK as well and its so nice having real-time lighting previews.

yea its stupid that you have to compile. really other games have everything in map editor.
counter strike and half life with new source engine still have worse editor than games from 99's...

really there is no other editor fan-maded or something?

Hammer has the advantage of being very easy to use. If you are looking for a Hammer alternative, you may have noticed the Sledge discussion.

Eventually, Sledge will support source games, but for now, CSGO SDK is the only editor i'm aware of.
