Hello mappers!

In my map I set the minimum light level to 0.5 to avoid some zones get completely dark, but in some room I would like to make it dark, is it possible setting a light entity with black color or in any other way?

I don't think there's any way to make a pointlight a negative value nor emit "blackness" (although that would be pretty cool!)

If you want the room COMPLETELY dark, you're just gonna have to block the path of exterior light penetrating inside using world brushes. If you want only the slightest light in the room, use a texlight with a darker color like blue/purlple, at a very low brightness value. (pointlights in GoldSrc are not very sublte)

I tried to close the room completely and separate it from any source of light, and it still remains with the minimum value of light I set in the compilation...

Now I think it is not possible... :cry:

Oh I'm sorry, when you say "minimum light value" is that in map properties, or do you mean the light_environment?

If it's the former I don't think I ever messed with it.

Yeah, I think rather than approaching this from back to front, your best bet would be to conventionally light the map with enough fill sources that you don't need to use the minimum light level property. That way your dark room will be dark.

Afaik, minimum light level is global.

Thank You people, I think I will try without the minimum light level in compilation and if I get all messed up I will just remove that dark zone from the map :P
