REAL WORLD NOT HL btw

ok...one light and two switches. (like hallways) both can switch the light on or off....(if you uses switch one to turn it off, swtich 2 can turn it on again) anybody care to explain this....its doing my head in again!

i have that in my den...

set the light to toggle.......have both switches target the light.....and set the flags to toggle as well

Hm, let me think.
You need:

• shunt circuit. for the two buttons
• a flip-flop circuit (google for it)
• to connect the shunt circuit to the flip-flop
• then a lamp and a power source

Logic gates? I might have a look at my physics textbook sometime. I think it involves an OR or an AND gate. Maybe it's a NAND...I don't know.

yeah, an OR gate would work here. thats about the most i paid attention in science (i connected the buzzer and the clicker to the light, heat sensors and the switch so everything would go off when there was light, heat and the sytem was switched on :D)

Heh, i can still remember building an alarm device with a flip-flop to switch it on/off and a solar cell to activate the alarm whenever someone opened the drawer it was lying in.
I did'nt even know how a flip-flop worked that time, I just tried to rebuild what I saw on a technical drawing.

heh, and i thought flip flops were shoes...

lol.. its a chip or device that switchs its state when told too no matter what state its already in... like like a func_master can be set up to do in HL... lol

two switches in your house will be done with a special switch called a 2-way switch it has everything already build into it... its actally a really simple concept... just look for a diagram

Well basically you need:

• a special type of uran (dunno the exact number now)
• lots of water
• a neutron source
• turbines
• a cooling circuit

Then you put all the water into a big tank with the uran.
The tank must have pipes that leads the water to the turbines and then to the cooling circuit and then back into the main tank.
Now shoot some neutrons at the uran, this will result in a chain reaction and the uran will start shooting around many neutrons with immense energy.
This energy will heat the water so it will evaporate and abet the turbines.
After cooling down it will return into the main tank.
That's just the basics, been a while since we had this at school so there might be mistakes in it.
