well, my favorite map i've played would have to be the "They Hunger", actually thats a mod, but it does have maps in it!!

a map i'd like to see? well a resident evil hl map, y'know, if ya watched resident evil you'll know. where all the workers become zombies etc. etc.
or a resident evil HL Mod based on one of the RE PS2 Games, RE-O, RE1,2,3 ETC. That would be cool.

There are RE maps/packs for SC.

As for favorite played map, it'd have to be ns_eclipse...KungFuSquirrel is a mapping god, and it shows in eclipse.

A map I recently played and that totally stunned me is 'Persian Letters' by Campaignjunkie... really sweet map...

As for my favorite self-created map? 'The Playtest', although I've only released two maps so there isn't really much to choose from for me...

Persian Letters? I think I've seen that over at the Snark Pit. Most of the maps there are quite good. Specially the 'strange' themed ones.

Anyway, my favour-ite map ever made has to be either ts_kissemeyerbasic or ts_supertimor by Mazy (http://www.mazy.net/)

As for one I've made, well, It's been a while since I've bothered mapping. And I am not actually that keen on any of my own maps.
