My map has ladders that are using the solid/255 rendering mode and fx amount properties, but when they are viewed using software rendering, they are either invisible or the space in between the rungs are blue. This problem is not present when using D3D rendering. My fault or the computers fault?

Blame Half-Life, it's because of Software being a pretty shoddy rendering mode. I'd suggest OpenGL. D3D has quite a few bugs as well.

lol ;) :P

Anyway.. I can't understand why you would ever need to use Software mode unless your PC had some kinda problem, or well.. for testing but hey, most players will use a high resolution anyway and in 99% of cases are gonna have OpenGL, just on principal..

So test in OGL or get ya PC fixed =P

I have a high power ATI RADEON 9600 and high quality P4 processor, so I don't need to use software rendering, but I don't know that OGL supports my video card or OS (regretablly, my OS is XP =P)

Radeon 9600's support OpenGL. Same with a P4.

Remember, HL is a very old game in comp. standards, at least, so it should be able to run something like HL in OpenGL, as well as new games like Unreal Tourney 2k4.

Yeah man, XP and radeon's are fine for HL, why don't you try using it before posting in teh forums?
