Anyone here a trekkie, either active or rehabilitated (hehe, me)? Pointless post, really, might grow into something interesting.

Posted 20 years ago2003-10-23 11:00:00 UTC Post #3069
Star trek is all about a bunch of people sitting in a command bridge and shaking when their sensor blow up or they're getting attacked by some horrendous aliens in a most uninteresting way. :P :P :P

Am I saying this because I'm more of a star wars fan.

I've started to play Star Trek Elite Force 2, it's really fun. Reminds me of Half-Life, but this game has better and more "realistic" textures. Try it out, I highly recommend.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-27 06:32:48 UTC Post #3387
Anyone tried Star trek Armada 2?

Elite Force 2 was awful, nowhere near as good as the original. Theres only 3 recognisable characters, compared to the entire crew of Voyager. The music sounded like a midi file they downloaded off the net, and then reversed and changed all the instruments to that stupid guitar noise. The gameplay is bland and monotonous, theres no real excitement as everything is predictable.

Overall they took the game and made it something you'd expect to play in an arcade. It got slightly better towards the end, but it still felt rushed. The final boss showing how totally distanced from reality the game is.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-28 14:36:13 UTC Post #3513
Excuse me Jobabob. The game is built according to the series and yes, the game can be predictable sometimes (as the series). I think the game is very good, I like the envirements and the action. Don't forget that the game is taken place like thousand year in the future.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-28 15:23:01 UTC Post #3518
Only about 300 years actually.

If Elite Force 1 can be a great game based on the series, the sequel could have been as well. I can't believe you didn't notice the music though, just go through the first few levels and listen to the action music, its beyond a joke!
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-30 14:23:50 UTC Post #3661
Sure, I will. But I'v noticed that the music in Elite Force 2 is exactly as in the series. Have you come to that forest level? Very nice.
The factory level (where they create those aliens), it reminds me a bit of The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. There are simmilar places in that game, but instaed there are old "castles" made by the dwarfes.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-30 15:50:24 UTC Post #3668
God, I loved morrowind and comparing it in any way to EF2 is an insult to Bethsheda. I almost have an incling to actually reinstall the game to get my point across
