Hi!
I've always wanted to get good at worldcraft, so I'm trying to learn :)

I've made a map, nothing fancy a couple of houses inside a big hollw cube. My problem is that when I apply a nice sky texture ( i use four different textures for each side ) my building become "see-through"! both in worldcraft and in counter-strike source. I'm using hammer 4.0. (my computer is at best average), and I'm compiling through pressing "f9". Is it fixable?

Sorry about the headline, I'll post the maya exporting/importing question for another post :

Does this still apply for Hammer 4? I thought it had changed a lot since Hammer 3.4/Hammer 3.5 beta. Well, I'm still on HL1, so I don't really know.

The issue is that you're applying the sky tex directly upon the box. Put the tools/skybox texture onto the box instead.

To add the sky - just go Map - Map Properties, and enter the name of the sky you want. You can see available skies by entering 'sky' in the texture filter box and finding their name - they look like skybox/sky_day_01_05lf, for example. The lf, rt, bk, up, dn suffixes need to be left off in order for the sky to work properly - they just tell the game where to apply the sky texes. You also need to leave out the skybox/ portion.

So if I wanted this sky_day_01_05, I'd just enter sky_day_01_05 in the appropriate field in map properties.
