Free Radeons? Sonuds like a scam to me - It's usually fairly hard to find someone giving away computer stuff without some form of scammery attached. Depends on the site, though.

DAMN! it IS a scam. Sure i have to answer a few servey questions (easy part) but then it tells me i have to sign up for 3 of the things below, then i get it for free :(

Eh oh well i guess i'll just go under my rock again and spend the days having hl2 in my hands knowing i won't be able to play it for a long time

Not in todays day and age. If you're looking for a cheap card that proforms I suggest an ATI Radion 9600XT or 9800 (128MB). Check the Core clock and Ramdeck settings first though. My friend got an 9600XT with a core clock of 600mhz and it works a dream with Half Life 2. Beautiful card.

Not RamDeck, RAMDAC, My appologies.

I have a Radeon 9200. Would it be sufficient to run HL2? I am not talking about at a high graphics setting, but towards the low-end.

I have a Radeon 9200, satchmo. Runs HL2 with some lag on lowest resolution with lowest detail on my P4 1.8 GHZ computer.

Dunno about your computer, but it runs alright for me.

Dunno why theyre sellin 'em for cheap - Good deal, though.

A 9200 should run HL2 fine. I can run medium detail at upwards of 70FPS and higher detail at around 40 FPS on my older GeForce FX 5200.

:P

Got there before you Rabid.

Not sure what FPS it runs at, but it's still very playable for me, and you just need a bit of patience.

There is still some lag, but it only lags sometimes, and the game itself is still really playable.

Thanks, trapt and Rabid. I hope it'll help that I recently upgraded the memory to 512 MB.

I tried to run FarCry on my machine, but it's just a joke. My old granny comp is pathetic when it comes to these new games.

Hey, but I can run WordStar really fast!

:D

FarCry is a joke in itself - It runs crappy on all the high-end systems, too ;P

what do you mean monkey?

$1 ≈ ?0.60, but I couldn't say that last time 'cos my keyboard was messed up and was giving me hashes instead of pound signs.

As for the "Google?" bit, that was an invitation to search for a currency converter on the 'net.
