This is my hl2dm map I'm also entering into the RUST competition - Many of you may have also seen this posted at Snarkpit.
Well, I've been working at it, and have a decent presentable area of the map I've screenshotted for the compo, though I'm having trouble picking which one to enter. Thats why I'm posting this message - If you wouldn't mind looking at all four of the shots, and choosing one or two that you like, it would help, immensely.

I really think the second one suits the idea of the compo the most, since it is like a machine kind of compo.

The Compo is a bit of a flop and I blame those lamers at valve for actually managing to launch HL2 !! I mean, how many false starts did we get? Jeeze, I was banking on a December Launch... even though they repeatedly said November (I mean really.. who believes production companies??) (Tongue in cheek

Just out of interest,
There were 12 Judges.
They all agreed that Rabid's entry was good, but there werebetter ones.
So why did it win??
It was one of the few entries that actually complied with the compo guidelines!
Lesson to all... Only do what you are asked to do.
Special mention to Captain P and RacerX for their entries...

Well done Rabid. 
Exactly what I thought. I didn't think that Rabid's was the best, but I also noted that his entry stuck to the guidelines.
Captain P's was brilliant, very very nice.
RacerX's was also quite nice. Well done to you also.

The link originally pointed to my Dhost site, since that was what was in my profile, so I'd assume a majority of the hits got redirected there. I had to mirror all my pages over there so people wouldn't get the old version.
I just installed the tracker a few hours ago, so it doesn't show a horrible amount of hits. (Most are mine from testing minor page changes and the tracker itself.) The hits I do get are aimed at the new page for Petrol for the most part, though.

HL2Files mirrored my download illegally (see my journal) so 560 people got ahold of the download and source file - They probably just got ahold of it, edited it for DM and hosted it.
Anyways, I'll update this thread with map updates and stuff.

The fact I'm going to enter it into the VALVe competition doesn't help matters.

Yeah, I really didn't expect to get onto the team, I just applied since it's always better to take a chance than to not, and hey, if they accepted me, then that's perfectly okay by me

That white fog in the background is actually a smokestack.
I'll mess with the distances for the fog, that does look a bit weird.
I'd remove the fog, but its supposed to be mid-morning in an industrial district, and there's lots of smog, if not fog, at that time of day and in the location
