I'm setting up an he_ map. So far it is looking good but i noticed that when using the info_map_parameters entity it allows players to buy items during the first round. Is there any way to prevent this other than putting in unreachable buy zones?

Afaik, no - Putting in unreachable buyzones isn't that hard, though, so I'd say just go with it.
