Yo people i have this problam... My map is all bright and i dont want that. Is there a way i can change that??? I tryed spot light, light_envirment and all thouse lights... I CANT MAKE MY MAP DARKER dont know y??? help me plz :

I had that problem too. I found some information to help my out. Its a pain but I ended up just making a big hollow box around my map. The problem is that your map has a leak somewhere in it and when there is a leak VIS and RAD dont run causing light to not be rendered making your map fullbright.

Take that box away and load the Point file.

Boxs are bad.

Skyboxes in the HL1 engine: NOT RECOMMENDED.

ok well i deleted the sky and when i run the map it shows me this at the end

Switch to Zoner's tools first.

A leak means you've got a hole in your map that 'leaks' to the void. You need to patch up the hole, or holes for the lighting to work.

well, I know that skyboxes are bad but I searched for 2 days using the pointfile. I fixed up holes everywhere and I finally just gave up, I fixed one hole and another one appeared, it was in the sky everywhere so I made a box around the map, or just that area of the map, and It worked good.

Here do this... Make 4 Square (solid) boxs over your map so your map is completely covered, then delete one box. Try compiling. If it says theres a leak... Click undo to make the box reappear(within this box is where your leak is) Delete the other three boxs, and compile. There shouldn't be any leaks (since its covered within the 1st box)

Now make this box a little smaller and compile.... if you still don't have any leaks then, you know the area you uncovered is'nt where your leak is. Make the box even smaller, covering less of your map..
Continue this until you have a very small block. Delete the block and there.. you found your leak! :P

I feel it simpler to just load up the pointfile in hammer or half-life.

It does cover the leaks, but it also will increase your r_speeds a lot. Thats why you put patches of sky in places you want to be able to look at a sky.

my worldcraft doznt run vis and rad files... isn't this wierd : it stops on qbps2... I already tryed different tools like hlbsp and all doz still doznt work hm... :

use propper english and we will respect you more. and it seems as if you didn't setup hammer properly with zoners(you did get them right? if not go to the links page)

If you need help finding your leaks, go get Leak Marker. It finds your leak and puts a box around it, showing you where the leak is. I think it might fail sometimes...
