Heres the trick on how to compile huge, gigantic, big, R_speed consuming maps in less than 30 seconds!

*note, only for source mappers!

the trick is: NO LIGHTS, no bright-giving entity, no whatsover that emits lights.

besides its gonna be set to mat_fullbright 1 anyways.

so use this technique when mapping and editing beta levels
*ONLY PUT LIGHTS WHEN MAP IS 100% DONE!!*

Er, just, no.

Only run full VIS/RAD when your map is 100% done. Anyways, part of the map's construction and design should be in the lighting (It makes or breaks the map) so you need to think about it. A lot.

I agree with Rabid. No lighting until the very end is a very bad idea. That way, if you want to modify the architecture for better lighting, you gotta start over.

You can run fast VIS and fast RAD if you want to compile a huge map fast just to see the new architecture you have added!
