What's the problem? Too many wads? Thanks for the help.
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-20 02:22:32 UTC Post #91961
First,
You managed to run three copies of the csg compile.
What happened to bsp, rad and vis?
This makes me thing that your setup is wrong... Check the paths to your compile tools.

Get a copy of Zoners compiling tools.
ZHLT 3.0 is buggy, so try Slackiller's HL Programs for a copy of ZHLT 253 v1.7

Second,
Try removing the _ from the map name.
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-20 04:08:33 UTC Post #91970
Argh! Q-tools. Want to know what that stands for?

Quake tools. Those are designed for Quake but is compatible with HL, and not only that, they're more error-prone. There's token too large, uhh...go read through Tommy14's error list to find all of them. You could also find ZHLT on the VERC (or for short, here).

Also a few more tips:

You might want to use a Batch Compiler.
Don't use the cached or pldecal wads.
I think you weren't supposed to compile a map on a different drive?
The _ doesn't have to do anything with problems. The _ is fine.
Those q-tools are 4 years old.
That's it.

You may well have problems from a filesystem point of view with:
  • Things spread across drives;
  • Spaces in pathnames.
Read the Steam tutorial (on your left) for a workaround (it's the bit at the end).

Ok guys, I really need your help now on this one.

I have all of it set up right. I'm having .wad problems I think. Where are the .wads located on steam? I'm just switching from won now and I'm messed up. I can't find the cache.wad or whatever for the origin brushes.

So, for now I said screw it, I'll figure out wads later. So I compiled it with only 1 wad and this happend:

There's no drive name?
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-21 15:41:27 UTC Post #92263
There often isn't, hence the problem of files on different drives.

Plus you're still not using ZHLT.

What is this ZHLT you speak of? Compile tools or a new hammer? What is it?
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-21 18:16:58 UTC Post #92355
And could you link me directly to it please? I don't know what it is and I can't look for it on some site if I don't know what I'm looking for. THANKS!

ZHLT are compile tools for Half-Life.
Get em here: http://www.zhlt.tk/

It's quite possibly that it's the multiple drives thingy...
Place all your mapping fohingas on one drive (C: would be a good choice since steam is there) and try it.
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-21 20:44:12 UTC Post #92386
That often goes down, and ZHLT 3.0 is buggy. I also posted the link already! Just in case you need it again, http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?go=mhlt (too lazy to use url tag)

Ok, I have always used those compile tools. It must have switched over to the old ones when I converted from WON to Steam. It works now. That was the only problem. Once again I thank you for your effort in helping me. I love you all!!!! (Not in a gay way of corse) :)

If you're running in Expert, use Normal, and vice-versa. You appear to have messed up the parameters rather.
