I just want to put enemies in my map but I've no clue as to what name to give any of the objects. =X

Is it NPC_Furniture? I really don't think so because that seems so illogical.

npc_combine_s? npc_metro_police? npc_zombie? npc_manhack? npc_strider? I dont' have Hammer open, but it should be pretty obvious.

You have selected HL? in the SDK launcher, right, not CS:S?

Reset the game configuration file from Steam. It's worth a shot.
