While mapping for HL1 you could browse specific wad files in the texture app to decrease the number of images to browse. Where did it go for the HL2 Hammer?

WADs? my dear boy, half life 2 has done away with WADs. now we use seperate files for each texture! use the filter field to specify the type of texture you want, or choose an option from the drop down list below to get certain textures, such as combine or city 17.

That keyword function isn't fully implemented though, because you have to define a $keyword in the VMT. Tbh it's pointless, really, it's something leftover from the beta (airexchange keywords ;D?)

There's some shell extensions and programs to view these particular materials - A simple google search should return some results.

Wads are old nowadays although on the options you can select to use wads although I don't think it works...

Hi, Bllwnkle! Not seen you for a very long time.

The materials do have pretty tidy names now. I mean, search for 'grass', and you'll get loads of grassed materials. Try it :).

Hi Seventh, yeah, been out for some time.
So you guys are saying I can't look at...say...decals and only see those? Hmmm. Guess I'll have to toss my old custom wad's out. Thanks.

Well you can do a filter for decals in the texture browser in Hammer, as always, and see them seperate from the default brick or w/e textures, for example.

Convert the old decals and textures into new ones...
